Grateful to Serve the City of South Lake Tahoe
Lefrancois Engineering was pleased to provide on-call City Engineer support to the City of South Lake Tahoe during a period of transition within the Public Works Department. As a local Lake Tahoe civil engineering firm, the opportunity allowed our team to bring decades of regional experience to a broad range of South Lake Tahoe engineering and infrastructure needs.
Working alongside City staff, LSC Transportation Consultants in its role as City Traffic Engineer, and the City’s other consultants, LE provided support across public works, stormwater, transportation, development review, facility, and capital improvement projects.
Our work included construction-phase stormwater and QSP support for the Rockwood to Blackwood Drainage Improvements Project; consultant procurement and early project development for the El Dorado Beach Revetment and Improvement Project; engineering review of the James and Eloise Drainage Maintenance Project; review and coordination for the Sugar Pine Bicycle Routes Project; and engineering support for the City’s 2025 Road Rehabilitation Project.
LE also provided technical support for the Tahoe Valley Stormwater and Greenbelt Improvement Project, Johnson Boulevard, and the Recreation & Aquatics Center Capital Project, along with a variety of drainage, transportation, development review, building permit, and City facility assignments. Together, these efforts reflect the range of public works engineering in South Lake Tahoe, from stormwater and transportation improvements to community facilities and other critical infrastructure.
Depending on the project, our role included plan and specification review, field investigations, stormwater engineering, regulatory coordination, consultant review, construction support, and technical assistance to City staff. LE also assisted with City legal matters requiring review of engineering records, project history, and site conditions.
We appreciated the opportunity to support the City during this transition and look forward to working with Public Works Director Mohammad “Dr. Q” Qureshi, PhD, PE, TE, City staff, and the City’s project partners on future efforts.
South Lake Tahoe is an important part of the greater Tahoe community where we live and work. We’re grateful to have contributed our local civil engineering, stormwater, transportation, and regulatory experience to infrastructure that serves the community and helps shape the future of South Lake Tahoe.
